Review: Western Digital My Passport 4TB

As storage becomes a very important aspect of our daily lives, we always try to look for that one true external hard disk that can handle the many collection of files, pictures, movies that we have in our computers.

USB sticks wont cut it anymore. We need something that’s versatile, budget-friendly and has great performance for prolong use. The Western Digital My Passport is a popular brand amongst regular users who just want something straight out of the box and yet maintain a significant budget price point and quality of its hardware. It’s true what they say, big packages come in small sizes as it comes in a passport size that fits my palm.

My purchase of the WD My Passport also came with a free pouch. A freebie that surely anyone would appreciate.

As for the unboxing moment, the product as expectedly came with a quick start manual and a USB data cable 3.0 type-A to Micro-B.

Of course, right after unboxing my external storage I quickly hooked it up to my Macbook pro and immediately checked its storage capacity (Note* I had to format the drive in Ex-fat configuration for it to be compatible with Mac devices and windows.) 4 terabytes of real storage and just a flimsy 214mb used for system files. Not bad at all…

For a storage device that’s small, versatile and can handle a large number of files, this certainly is a no brainer. Its price alone is competitive enough to grab its market share by swift.

You can get a grab of the Western Digital My Passport 4TB for the price of ₱5,395.00 at Lazada.com.ph. Simply click the buy button below to directly visit the product page.
