After a long wait for the next release of the Mi Mix series, Xiaomi announced it’s return with twist. The Mi Mix series was considered Xiaomi’s rebel high end phone with outlandish concept designs in every version.
This time they doubled their efforts and transformed the phone into a foldable device that turns into an 8in tablet. Samsung was the very first to launch their galaxy fold that failed big time with their first edition. Seems that Xiaomi was able to learn a lot from Samsung considering this is their first release of their folding phone.
The form factor for the Mi Mix Fold looks even way slimmer than the Galaxy Fold. The side panel that holds up the folding mechanism has quite a similarity to the Galaxy Fold’s design. Time will only tell when the durability and longevity question arrises.
Now in terms of performance, the Mi Mix packs a 256/512GB storage and 12/16GB RAM, 4 Harman Kardon-tuned speakers, and a battery 5,020mAh that can be fast-charged in about 37 mins. The camera setup is not as crazy as the Mi 11 Ultra but still has a 108MB with up to 30x zoom capability which is basically the same as the standard Mi 11.
