Converge ICT Solutions said its Angeles data center in Pampanga has secured agreen lane certificate of endorsementfrom the Department of Trade and Industry and the Board of Investments. BusinessWorld reports that the designation is intended to speed regulatory clearances for the facility, which is being developed for data-center infrastructure, enterprise cloud computing, and carrier-neutral colocation. The move comes as Philippine businesses and public institutions need more local capacity for data-intensive services and artificial intelligence workloads.
The facility was classified as a strategic investment under Executive Order No. 18, giving it access to dedicated investment facilitation, simultaneous multi-agency permit processing, and key-account management. Converge launched its PHP 5-billion, 12-megawatt Angeles data center in March. The company said faster deployment can support the country’s digital economy and strengthen sovereign compute capacity, while the endorsement is expected to reduce regulatory friction during expansion.
