The Department of Education and Microsoft are expanding their partnership to giveone million Filipino public school teachersaccess to Microsoft Copilot. YugaTech reports that educators will receive enterprise access to Copilot Chat for drafting school communications, preparing curriculum-aligned lessons, creating assessments, and summarizing student progress. The program builds on a nationwide AI-skills initiative that registered more than 175,000 educators and drew nearly 75,000 live attendees during its first training modules.
The partnership also brings AI-assisted literacy tools, including Microsoft Reading Progress and Reading Coach, into DepEd’s Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning program. A 21-week pilot across eight regions involving more than 3,400 students recorded measurable reading gains. DepEd officials stressed that AI is intended to support teachers’ judgment, not replace it, while helping schools identify learning gaps and deliver targeted interventions sooner. Source:YugaTech.
