Globe posted its strongest network performance of 2026 in August, according to the latest Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Telco Report Card. The company recorded an overall score of81.5, 4.4 points higher than its January result. Its average download speed also reached a year high of 45.9 Mbps. The figures offer a snapshot of how network quality and speed changed during the year, while also showing why telco performance is increasingly measured through consistency, latency and service availability rather than download speed alone.
Philstar.com reported that Globe’s August download speed was 5.1% faster than July and 26% higher than the 36.5 Mbps recorded at the start of 2026. Network quality improved to 71.2 from 69.2, while latency held at 20 milliseconds. The report said the results were part of continuing work with the NTC and DICT to improve service quality nationwide. These metrics describe the measured network experience, but they do not guarantee identical speeds for every subscriber, location, device or time of day.
Globe said it invested**₱26.3 billion**in capital expenditures during the first half of 2026, with 91% directed to data-related initiatives. The company also pointed to its Automated Outage Response technology, which can preserve up to 50% of data connectivity during outages by optimizing nearby cell sites. That resilience feature is particularly relevant in emergencies and periods of heavy demand, when users need calls, messages and data access to remain available even if parts of the network are disrupted.
The company’s latest figures also included expansion into harder-to-reach communities. Globe said it activated mobile services in 52 previously unserved geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas in July, completing commitments across 180 DICT connectivity-project locations. The report is based on company and government-linked measurements, and Globe’s progress should be read alongside independent testing and subscriber experience. For customers, the practical takeaway is that network improvements involve both faster connections and the harder work of keeping service dependable across the country every day.
