The Philippine Payments Management Inc. has connectedQR Ph to Alipay+, allowing international consumers to pay participating Filipino merchants with their home e-wallets and banking apps. Fintech News Philippines reports that merchants can use their existing QR Ph codes without installing new infrastructure. The integration is designed to help micro, small, and medium enterprises serve travelers and digital customers from abroad while making the country’s interoperable payments network more useful for cross-border commerce.
The move supports the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ digital-payments goals and extends QR Ph’s reach to Alipay+ partner applications. Fintech News Philippines says QR Ph already serves about 2.5 million merchants and SMEs, while digital payments made up 64.69% of Philippine retail transaction volume in 2025. Consumers should still look for the merchant’s accepted-payment markings and confirm the amount before approving a transaction. Source:Fintech News Philippines.
