GCash has launched aDigital Tax Refundservice that lets Filipino travelers receive eligible overseas tax refunds directly in pesos through the GCash app. YugaTech reports that the service was developed with Alipay+ and Swiss tax-refund company Global Blue, replacing a potentially lengthy bank-processing wait with a QR-based digital process.
Eligible travelers generate a QR code in GCash for airport authorities to scan, after which the refund is transferred to the e-wallet. The service currently covers 16 countries, including France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, and Switzerland.
